東京都出身。日本大学藝術学部映画学科監督コース卒業。2011年7月に広告の制作会社を退社後、BABEL LABELの映像作家として活動を開始。

資生堂やdocomo、Googleをはじめとする広告映像などのディレクションを手がけ、近年ではドラマ『ウツボラ』『真夜中にハロー！』『RISKY』『八月は夜のバッティングセンターで。』など話題となった作品のチーフ監督、さらにドラマ『日本ボロ宿紀行』では監督、全話の撮影監督も務める。カメラマンを兼任し作品を手がけることもある。

2024年劇場映画2作品が公開予定。

Raised in Tokyo, Hiroto is a graduate of the Cinema Department's Directing Course at Nihon University's College of Art.
He joined BABEL LABEL as a filmmaker after leaving the ad production company he worked at in July 2011.
Hiroto has directed ads for Shiseido, Docomo, Google and other major clients, and in recent years has been the chief director for such well-known TV dramas as UTSUBORA,THE STORY OF A NOVELIST, Mayonaka ni Hello! (Hello at Midnight!), RISKY, and Hachigatsu wa Yoru no Batting Center de (Night Batting Cage in August). He was also a director for the TV drama Nihon Boro Yado Kiko (The Rundown Japanese Inns Tour) and the cinemaphotographer for the entire series. He sometimes also works as a camera operator in addition to his role as director.
Hiroto's second movie is scheduled for release in 2024.
